Python: Escape From the Terrarium. The challenges of portability and their solutions.

Scripting languages are comfortable to develop on... and that's where the comfort ends, problems start outside of the developer's machine. Especially when you are writing some kind of application tooling: CLI utilities, auxiliary applications in your SDK, etc. You can't even rely on the user having pip to be able to install all your dependencies, you need to arrange everything yourself.
